Maurten set the “bar” with their SOLID 225…now they are raising it. Maurten is out with a redefined SOLID: the SOLID 160.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get better.
SOLID reinvented bars by removing everything but the essentials. The result is a performance-focused oat-and-rice-based chewable. It may look like a bar, feel like a bar, and taste like a bar — but it's definitely not a bar.
The SOLID 160
Maurten said one thing that really summarized the creation of SOLID:
"The majority of "energy" bars are made to have snack-appeal. SOLID, on the other hand, is built for fueling performance. They are worlds apart — one is aimed at the top supermarket shelf, the other at the top of the podium."
That’s what the original bar did, but now we have an even more refined version.
The SOLID 160 takes all the positive aspects of the original but fine-tunes some features to make it even more seamless for training and performance. Notably:
- it’s split into 2 x 20g mini bars, easier to portion
- it’s an exact 40g of carbs, matching that of the gel and drink options
- it’s easier to chew, consume, and fuel with
Can you use it with Maurten's Gels and Drinks?
SOLID complements the Hydrogel used in Maurten's Drinks and Gels as another way to fuel your high-carb strategy. You can choose either flavor, just SOLID (simple oat flavor) or SOLID C (with cocoa).
The best part about SOLID is that sometimes you want to put something, well, “solid”, in your stomach during long events. The 160 is a 55g, light bar split into two mini-bars, making portioning and fueling simpler than before. You can eat 20g now and 20g later or take them both in for a 40g dose.
It’s Maurten’s go-to fuel for any activities and training when you want something reliable, light, and chock-ful of carbs without creating any GI distress.
How to Use It:
The SOLID 160 is an ideal fuel source for low-medium efforts activities <2hr or harder, long efforts 2hr +. Athletes are choosing this on longer, endurance events as well when they want something more satiating and satisfying to mix up the fueling. Half of the pack = 20g and both bars = 40g. Mix with other Maurten to hit your high-carb fueling goals easily.
